SPlotter - Burst Plotter that automatically creates small plots [Perfect for SMR]

  • Updated 25/6/2017: Please update if you aren't using multiples of 256 for your plots.

    The download now contains 4 executable files;

    • SPlotter.exe
    • SPlotter_avx.exe
    • SPlotter_sse.exe
    • RunThisAsAdmin.bat

The main executable should choose AVX > SSE and most people shouldn't need to use the other ones.

You set your account id (-id) a start nonce (-sn) and number of nonces (-n) like usual and it makes plots until it can't make a plot the size you want anymore.

It will do this without overlapping and the plots are optimized.

This is perfect if you're using SMR drives/moving plots, It is safe to move a plot once it starts working on the next one.

    The reason i made this?

I'm not just lazy I swear!! Part of the dead-line calculation includes the position of the nonce in the plot relative to the center of the plot if this is accurate so i made this so i can make heaps of small plots to better the chance of getting a low deadline when one is found.

  • Hi!

    I started with this settings:

    @setlocal

    @cd /d %~dp0

    SPlotter.exe -id 8378315103769074730 -sn 0 -n 20000 -t 8 -path D:\burst\plots -mem 5G

    and got this (image attached):

    - start with 1.7 TB free

    - it fills with 5T files ?!?!?!

    - seems free

    Its ok?

    tnx

    Raf

  • Yeah its working fine, You are reading your own screenshot wrong. You've circled 2 columns there they aren't 5TB each.

It would look nicer if you made the window wider too.

  • Oh! Thank you :) This was my mistake! I will continue now, and give feedback from the result!

    I have other question:

Its a bit hard to understand the graph. So this pltotting:

    - dont need optimising?

    - reading will be faster? (cant understand clearly)

    thanks

This post was deleted by the author themselves: Its technicaly not good, thats all. ().
  • The plots don't need optimizing :)

It's a bit hard to explain across a language barrier but the smaller plots give a higher chance that your found nonce is going to be near an end of one of your plots which will give you a lower dead-line.

  • Ahh super! :)

    I understand what you wrote :) (i hope :D )

    (also will give a try)

I will post my test to you!

The plotting goes now, it seems very slow. Its normal?

    current:

    5GB: 15min

    theoretic:

    1700GB: 5100min: 85h: 3,5day yay :D

    calculated right?

  • I'm confused, you're saying deadlines are lower if they're found later in the plot? So if that's true then why don't scan the plots in reverse (let miner software start scan at the end of the plot file and work towards the beginning)?

Btw many small plots (even when optimized) will increase scanning time because the same scoop from every plot has to be read from many places on the hard drive.

if you had 2 miners scanning from each end it wouldn't change the relative position of the nonce in the plot or its weight relative to the center of the plot so it wouldn't change the deadline but it would help you find the deadline faster i guess? But yeah, Scanning the plot backwards wouldn't do much.

Also, I didn't say "at the end" i said "at an end"

Yeah it will increase your scan time by a few seconds at most with the potential of much better deadlines.

One of these plots is not like the others... (5GB plots)

I mean i guess you could put it down to luck if i wasn't there every day... Pretty sure i read the diagram correctly and my plotter is working as intended...

  • Hi! Why it is so slow? i have 8 threads, and they dont work on 100%, only on 20-30%. IT vill take days to plot a 1.7 TB. Tnx

  • darksun20

2 days approx is all I was looking for

  • Magic Brando

it's not called green though :D

  • Magic Brando

and it's no slower than standard desktop hdds

  • bootmeup

Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5'' HDD 10TB (Helium) 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache Standard 4Kn

  • Magic Brando

I would not waste a 4kn helium drive for burst mining!

  • bootmeup

    well got 7..heheh

  • the_ko

you guys think burst will hit 1-2k sats any time soon?

  • Magic Brando

    1 maybe, 2 no way

  • the_ko

    why not 2?

  • the_ko

i mean it almost hit 1k a few days ago

  • the_ko

i mean it almost hit 1k a few days agi

  • bootmeup

    lucky MB...heheh

  • Magic Brando

it requires a lot more publicity first and gotta remove fixed 1 burst fee

  • Magic Brando

maybe it will hit 2k end of 2018

  • Magic Brando

    hopefully

  • the_ko

i made 30k when dgb went from 300 sats to 2.6k sats in a month. i think you are wrong. we will see.

  • Magic Brando

I don't know DGB, but burst needs time

  • the_ko

time for what? it's a undervalued coin.

  • bootmeup

    or someone big pumping it...heheh

  • the_ko

if shit coins like dgb and bitshares can hit .10 and .45 then a good coin like burst can surely hit atleast 2k sats even with out a pump, just a good rally.

  • the_ko

last week burst was top 5 on polo, top 10 on world coin index and top 60 on coinmarketcap. then that bullshit eth hoax crashed the market.

  • Magic Brando

I think good coins hit high consistently and with time

  • Magic Brando

the crappy coins tend to fluctuate a lot

  • the_ko

thats also wrong, look at ether

  • the_ko

ether went from 80$ to 380$ in a month.

  • the_ko

mono went from 1$ to 50$ in a few months

  • Magic Brando

yes and dumped to a dollar in half an hour

  • the_ko

    what did?

  • Magic Brando

    which made me 6 grands

  • the_ko

eth is worth 320$ right now

  • Magic Brando

    eth

  • the_ko

that was cuz of a bullshit flash crash

  • Beerus Madness

look at burst in recent days, even after eth crashed, burst has had steady indicative growth, I think we are on the tipping point right now, it wont be the same sort of gains like eth

  • the_ko

had nothing to do with the real value of the coin

  • Beerus Madness

    but it will be steady

  • the_ko

had nothing to do with the real value of the coin

  • Magic Brando

    "real" value of the coin?

  • the_ko

i researched all top 100 coins, and burst is a sleeping giant.

  • Magic Brando

    oh yeah, I agree 102%

  • the_ko

very very undervalued. .30 cents is even undervalued.

  • the_ko

    i say 1$ by end of 2018/start of 2019.

  • the_ko

but who knows, crypto is impossible to predict.

  • Magic Brando

I hardly doubt it will hit $1 til they change the fixed fee

  • Beerus Madness

it depends, the issue with burst is how much of the coins are in circulation and most of it is held in a few wallets

  • affenmann666

    great show misterburst

  • the_ko

isnt it the exchanges who bought alot of it?

  • Magic Brando

poloniex owns about 40% of burst

  • mike2279

did we not see adam say he has like 30% or more of all burst

  • Magic Brando

    very possible

  • Beerus Madness

The top 20 wallets own 75% of all burst

  • bootmeup

    what % left to mine?

  • Magic Brando

couple of months ago it was 20% left

  • Beerus Madness

    16.8 now

  • bootmeup

    okay thanks...

  • the_ko

i mean, tell me why burst isnt worthy of taking dgbs spot, or bitshares? they are the most bullshit pump and dump coins ever, yet they hit 600m/1bill marketcaps

  • Beerus Madness

Too much of the total coin availability is gone and its only just coming into the spotlight

  • Magic Brando

exactely because people are attracted by quick money ride

  • the_ko

dgb was hardly talked about until it mooned

  • Beerus Madness

Imho, burst is an "experimental" coin currently, its gaining attention and traction, but a new coin based on the same proof of capacity, where theres no bullshit ico or premine

  • Magic Brando

    that's fomo for you

  • mike2279

there are a lot of coins out there no one every talks about but way more in price then burst

  • Beerus Madness

once a new PoC coin is launched, us guys who have hard drives ready, we will be the real winners ;)

  • mike2279

if they ever do it again

  • Magic Brando

I'd like to see you replot 150TB of hard drives for a new coin ...

  • Beerus Madness

im plotting about 2tb an hour currently, so, 3 days, not that much of an issue

  • Magic Brando

not everybody has nasa equipment in their homes, Beerus

  • bootmeup

    heheh

  • Beerus Madness

    haha :)

  • nkupop

    sup guys

  • bootmeup

    hi pop

  • Magic Brando

I'll play a match of OW

  • the_ko

mike2279 thats becuase they have low ammount in circulation like 90m -100m burst has 1.8b with a total of 2.15b so ofc burst is going to be lower price then a coin with lower ammounts.

  • bootmeup

i should have got one less drive and got motherboard and memory....but i did not know plotting needs power to get done fast

  • applecrisp

do asset shares in a sell order still count for dividends?

  • ZenMaster

    Applecrisp.. YES

  • Magic Brando

yeah, you just lost 500, zen

  • Beerus Madness

bootmeup, imho, send your stuff back and wait for threadripper

  • ZenMaster

    yup, sucked balls

  • Magic Brando

hey you put em on sale ...

  • bootmeup

think thats going to be like 800.00 to 900.00 range..to much for me

  • ZenMaster

oh, I thought you meant the 500 Burst I lost on Bitsler... weird coincidence

  • mike2279

its not ofc the-ko that is a factor in a lot of them yes but the coins are the value of what we the people think they are worth its a free market buying and selling and what might be thats where the money comes from

  • bootmeup

i could do it, but little left for drives

  • Beerus Madness

    do all your organs work?

  • Beerus Madness

Kidney, buys a lot of hardware :D

  • bootmeup

    hope so...why?

  • bootmeup

    oh...heheh

  • mike2279

    lol

  • ZenMaster

Magic Brando... I sent you a private message

  • bootmeup

i will pass..im old and dont want to be cut on...:)

  • ZenMaster

You can sell Plasma (blood) where I live and make pretty decent money

  • bootmeup

if i could get amd driver working on linux...and build the gpu plotter...my rx580 would maybe help

  • MisterBurst

  • bootmeup

MB you so lucky.. i saw you win again...heheh

  • fhaman

yeah he is, I tried his method, but I need more funds, couldnt sustain a losing streak long enough to get the win. will have to save my burst for a few days to play it right

  • fhaman

I blew all my burst yesterday on assets

  • bootmeup

i try, but only 30 burst and bet .01 and soon the box pop up about bet more then i had or something...heheh

  • MisterBurst

  • fhaman

    lol same here bootmeup

  • fhaman

have you tried your system with Doge MB? I have some doge laying around ;)
