SPlotter - Burst Plotter that automatically creates small plots [Perfect for SMR]

  • Updated 25/6/2017: Please update if you aren't using multiples of 256 for your plots.

    The download now contains 4 executable files;

    • SPlotter.exe
    • SPlotter_avx.exe
    • SPlotter_sse.exe
    • RunThisAsAdmin.bat

The main executable should choose AVX > SSE and most people shouldn't need to use the other ones.

You set your account id (-id) a start nonce (-sn) and number of nonces (-n) like usual and it makes plots until it can't make a plot the size you want anymore.

It will do this without overlapping and the plots are optimized.

This is perfect if you're using SMR drives/moving plots, It is safe to move a plot once it starts working on the next one.

    The reason i made this?

I'm not just lazy I swear!! Part of the dead-line calculation includes the position of the nonce in the plot relative to the center of the plot if this is accurate so i made this so i can make heaps of small plots to better the chance of getting a low deadline when one is found.

  • Hi!

    I started with this settings:

    @setlocal

    @cd /d %~dp0

    SPlotter.exe -id 8378315103769074730 -sn 0 -n 20000 -t 8 -path D:\burst\plots -mem 5G

    and got this (image attached):

    - start with 1.7 TB free

    - it fills with 5T files ?!?!?!

    - seems free

    Its ok?

    tnx

    Raf

  • Yeah its working fine, You are reading your own screenshot wrong. You've circled 2 columns there they aren't 5TB each.

It would look nicer if you made the window wider too.

  • Oh! Thank you :) This was my mistake! I will continue now, and give feedback from the result!

    I have other question:

Its a bit hard to understand the graph. So this pltotting:

    - dont need optimising?

    - reading will be faster? (cant understand clearly)

    thanks

This post was deleted by the author themselves: Its technicaly not good, thats all. ().
  • The plots don't need optimizing :)

It's a bit hard to explain across a language barrier but the smaller plots give a higher chance that your found nonce is going to be near an end of one of your plots which will give you a lower dead-line.

  • Ahh super! :)

    I understand what you wrote :) (i hope :D )

    (also will give a try)

I will post my test to you!

The plotting goes now, it seems very slow. Its normal?

    current:

    5GB: 15min

    theoretic:

    1700GB: 5100min: 85h: 3,5day yay :D

    calculated right?

  • I'm confused, you're saying deadlines are lower if they're found later in the plot? So if that's true then why don't scan the plots in reverse (let miner software start scan at the end of the plot file and work towards the beginning)?

Btw many small plots (even when optimized) will increase scanning time because the same scoop from every plot has to be read from many places on the hard drive.

if you had 2 miners scanning from each end it wouldn't change the relative position of the nonce in the plot or its weight relative to the center of the plot so it wouldn't change the deadline but it would help you find the deadline faster i guess? But yeah, Scanning the plot backwards wouldn't do much.

Also, I didn't say "at the end" i said "at an end"

Yeah it will increase your scan time by a few seconds at most with the potential of much better deadlines.

One of these plots is not like the others... (5GB plots)

    uWwyG7X.png

I mean i guess you could put it down to luck if i wasn't there every day... Pretty sure i read the diagram correctly and my plotter is working as intended...

  • Hi! Why it is so slow? i have 8 threads, and they dont work on 100%, only on 20-30%. IT vill take days to plot a 1.7 TB. Tnx

  • vamsi108

hey anyone ever get "user not recognised as an internal or external command" when trying to plot a drive ?

  • Vneck

yeah you need to go to the directory manually and not from within windows

  • Vneck

If you try to go to it via "Run as Admin" you will get that when launching from windows

  • Vneck

you can launch the cmd prompt as admin first, then go to the directory that has the plot program\exec

  • vamsi108

like xplotter in the burst folder

  • vamsi108

do I put the values in the read me file then copy to the cmd

  • vamsi108

I saw the youtube tutorial , it confused me a bit where he said you have to put in the biggest value possible in one of the values to guard against error

  • vamsi108

    trial and error basically ?

  • Beerus Madness

    not really

  • Beerus Madness

it can all be calculated beforehand

  • Vneck

    You can

  • vamsi108

right , is there a guide you can recommend / link ? please :)

  • Vneck

It helps to get it down before hand

  • Vneck

    XPlotter_avx.exe -id -sn [-n ] -t [-path ] [-mem <8G>]

  • Vneck

    8G us 8Gigs RAM

  • man0070

hey can anyone here spare a coin or 2 to get me up and running? been having issues with the faucets..

  • man0070

made a post details more info, wasnt sure if it was worth posting here.

  • Beerus Madness

To work out the nonces number for a drive, take the number of bytes and divide it by 64 then divide it by 4096, round down to the nearest multiple of 64

  • Vneck

    I see it, hold up

  • Vneck

sending, thanks for making a thread

  • man0070

Your a champ mate, thanks for that

  • Vneck

    sent

  • Vneck

    no prob

  • vamsi108

    thanks beerus

  • man0070

How long does it normally take for burst transactions to process do you think?

  • Vneck

    Thanks Superfriend Beerus

  • Vneck

Usually a few mins on normal block

  • canopus

    i love how growing diff

  • man0070

ahh ok, quite new to all of this so its nice to talk to people who know.

  • Vneck

    Sure thing

  • man0070

sweet, just seen them land! thanks man.

  • Vneck

No prob Superfriend. BOOM! Boom...and all that!

  • man0070

did have a question about multiple rigs in different locations, do i sign into the burst client, and just start mining on the same pool?

  • man0070

and when i say sign in, as in, sign in wth the single account.

  • man0070

as i read somewhere.. you need different accounts - and this kind of confused me a bit

  • Vneck

Technically yes it will work, but some pool owners don't like that

  • Vneck

It's better to do different pools with the same account, or different accounts to a pool

  • Vneck

But you plot has to match the numeric ID you use

  • man0070

thats where i get a bit confused haha, see what i can come up with.

  • man0070

your kind donation, i can get up and running nowe :)

  • Vneck

    lol I hear ya

  • Vneck

    No prob

  • jamesgowin3112

think anyone can spare a few coins before i goto bed so i can setup my miner? BURST-KWBG-6C5D-NWY4-82EUF
